My name is captain and I started working on my homepage in 1997. I've been a frog aficionado ever since my in-laws replaced the bride and groom on the wedding cake with two porcelain frogs. I continuously receive "frogs" from many wonderful people and I have fun displaying them here on CaptainFrog.com

I enjoy writing poetry and occasionally jot down a story or two. I find both to be good therapy. I'm retired from work in an elementary school so I have a good supply of children's literature to match my "writings" up against. It makes me realize just how much therapy I really need!

I read a great deal about the Civil War and have done much traveling in Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia and the Carolinas where I've visited many battlefield sites. My favorite book is Killer Angels by Michael Shaara and I also enjoy books by Taylor Caldwell, especially Dear and Glorious Physician.

I've also traveled to Germany, Denmark, Scotland, Ireland and Antigua.
