PHS CLASS OF 1960
(at 30th reunion)
by Gerard J. Surprenant
A score and ten have passed since those with power over letters did arrange
Our passage into life's unfettered affectations.
Prepared, they said, to take the step through portals of maturity and change;
Inviting us to the dance of destinations.
Encouraged by the tenets from days of innocent pretensions,
To foster caring for our fellow man in neighborly traditions found
Valiant efforts made by all in ways of differing dimensions
From simpler lives and in calmer times, by uncomplicated minds unbound.
Successes measured not by riches earned on traveled by-ways,
But calculated by a touch of light.
In our hearts we realize the common thread that binds our days
Is underlined with tender passions bright.
