Greet the Day

The sun has risen to greet the day.
The dew has all been driven away
And early birds are having their say.
Awaken and smell the fragrant flowers.

Creatures rising from their sleep
As though some inner promises to keep
Begin to scurry forth to seek
Adventures from the hillsides and the bowers.

My heart leaps forward toward the day.
My eyes take in of Nature's play.
My nose delights in earth's bouquet.
Come join this spree, these joyous hours.
